The African Kids and Teens Fashion Week 2016 (AKTFW) has over the years featured the collections of top African designers. Since the inception of the AKTFW, it has been an avenue to facilitate conversations of key players within the African fashion industry with bias for kids and teens.
The third edition of the African Kids And Teens Fashion Week, which held on December 9 to 11, was a three-part event which rounded up with fashion shows and exhibition at Classique Event Place Oregun Ikeja Lagos.
Fashion designers from all over the country showcased their collections with bursts of brightly-coloured designs meshed seamlessly with African designs in a contemporary style with the kid and teen models strutting the runway in hundreds of stunning pieces featuring varying combinations of African textiles, sewn and stitched together in beautiful designs and styles.
Designers who dazzled and exhibited at the fashion show include Arambe, TJ Davies, Rare Gems, Allessandra, Simbees, Datina Designs, Zucchini, among others.
The event was put together by SmartCode Africa, with partnership from by the Bank of Industry and Peak Milk.
The organizer, Mr Ajibola Akande, said: “The event Is aimed at promoting Africa designs and wears and enlightening parents on the importance of making their children’s wear with African designs, in order to boost the economy. Now in its third year, we remain dedicated to the growth and promotion of creatives in the industry as well as providing opportunities to top and upcoming designers to present their works to a larger market.”
